...remoteness and connectedness in the digital age.
Loch Computer Exhibition
The Loch Computer Exhibition will run from March 28 - April 8 at the Tent Gallery in Evolution House, Edinburgh College of Art, to coincide with the 2016 Edinburgh International Science Festival. The exhibition will feature a strikingly imaginative collaborative installation by photographer Norman McBeath and print-maker Leena Nammari, entitled De Locis Sanctis (On Sacred Places), a title derived from an account of the holy places of Jerusalem given to a seventh-century abbot of Iona by a traveller shipwrecked on the island. Created on Iona and in Jerusalem, McBeath and Nammari's subtle and unsettling installation is structured around Iona's Gaelic place names, and 'rhymes' sites on Iona with technologically fortified sites in present-day Jerusalem.
The Tent Gallery is at 78 West Port, Edinburgh EH1 2LE, and the exhibition is open Mondays to Saturdays, 2-5pm.
